Job Description
Radius Group is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to oversee the warehouse operations on a day-to-day basis; and deputise the Warehouse Manager in his absence. The ideal candidate needs to be self motivated, committed to the highest practicable standards of health, safety and environmental protection. Ideally they will have good IT & communication skills and be organised.
Key Responsibilities
Operational management of the day-to-day organisation and running of the warehouse; this is a hands-on role and integral to the smooth running of the business.
- Stock Control & Monitoring: Understand and manage stock control processes.
- Client Support: Assist Divisions in meeting client needs.
- Loading/Unloading: Collaborate with warehouse operatives to handle vehicle loading/unloading.
- Goods Management: Book goods in/out, ensure goods are defect-free, and maintain audit traceability.
- Warehouse Operations: Optimize warehouse space, maintain cleanliness, and manage equipment condition (repair/re-work as needed).
- Compliance & Inspections: Follow operating procedures, ensure compliance (PAT, LOLER), and book third-party inspections.
- Paperwork & Records: Prepare and manage documentation for invoicing, proof of delivery, stock lists, and audits.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with internal and external clients.
- Data Management: Update and present stock lists/data to customers and the Management team.
- Colleague Care: Uphold a conscientious and security-minded approach, ensuring duty of care to colleagues.
- Plant Installation & Machine Movement: Demonstrate knowledge through experience.
- Purchasing: Raise orders for consumables and control costs through supplier negotiation.
- Inspections & Compliance: Conduct and record monthly racking inspections; ensure adherence to legislative, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Administrative Accuracy: Keep administrative tasks and processes accurate and up-to-date.
- Flexibility: Work flexibly, including out-of-hours calls.
- Safety Practices: Promote PPE use and safety-conscious behaviors.
- Transport Coordination: Assist the Transport Manager with vehicle service and maintenance logistics.
- Tachograph Management: Help download tacho data as needed.
- Internal Audits: Support internal warehouse audit processes.
- Policy Adherence: Follow company health, safety, environmental, quality policies, and management systems.
- Flexibility: Undertake additional duties as needed to support business requirements.
- Handbook Compliance: Adhere to procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook.
