Michael Fryer and Keith Hall Join 12 Other Riders to Cross the Finish Line in Belmullet, Ireland

We’re proud to announce the successful completion of the Northampton to Belmullet Cycle Challenge 2025, a challenging 400+ mile ride undertaken to raise vital funds for the McCarthy-Dixon Foundation. From 2nd to 7th August, Radius Managing Director Michael Fryer and Financial Director Keith Hall joined 12 fellow cyclists on a demanding journey across England, Wales, and Ireland.

Over the six days, the team travelled through Rugeley, Chester, Holyhead, Dublin, Trim, and Ballaghadereen, before finally arriving in Belmullet on the 7th of August. The route combined steep climbs, coastal stretches, and ferry crossings – offering both beauty and serious endurance challenges.

On Day 3, riders were met with severe storms, battling strong winds and heavy rain that tested their resilience and determination. But the team pushed through, supported by incredible community spirit and the purpose behind the ride.

Riding for a Cause

The challenge was more than physical; it was about supporting a charity that makes a real, local impact. The McCarthy-Dixon Foundation delivers essential services across Northamptonshire, including:
• ✅ Emergency food and parcel deliveries
• ✅ Housing and homelessness support
• ✅ Outreach for mental health and social hardship

With the cost of living crisis continuing to hit vulnerable households, the Foundation’s work is more vital than ever.

The Results

So far, over £11,000 has been raised — and donations are still coming in. The team have smashed the £10,000 milestone, with all funds going directly to the McCarthy-Dixon Foundation’s frontline support efforts. “It’s been one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life,” said Michael Fryer. “The generosity we’ve seen, from sponsors, supporters, and strangers along the way, has been overwhelming. Most of all, I’m proud that every mile we rode will help someone who needs it.”

A Community Effort

This event was made possible thanks to the generosity of a remarkable line-up of sponsors and supporters on both sides of the Irish Sea. Alongside Radius, key backers included Lavelle’s Eagle Bar, Ballycroy Bay Holiday Cottages, MV Kelly Civil Engineering, The Swan & Helmet, Semilong Services, Talbot Hotel Belmullet, G&V Gallagher, Galldoc, Hawk Signage & Communication, Moy Materials, OFP, O’Sullivan, Elite, The Park Café – Abington Park, Howes Percival, MRE Utilities Ltd, Tripod Crest Ltd, NNDS Campbell Ltd, OD’s Bar, Hadland Commercial, HireSafe Solutions, Lynch, Deane Roofing & Cladding, Roadmax Tyres, and TDB Hotel & Leisure Group. Their backing ensured the riders could focus on the miles ahead and the fundraising goal at the heart of the challenge.
