Stockton-On-Tees

Background

To save our client time and money – for a high level, multiple item lift – we devised a plan resulting in a helicopter lift being the only solution. As part of the uk’s national delivery network, a new 2m ft2 fulfilment centre was constructed in stockton-on-tees. Plant and ancillary equipment needed to be lifted onto the roof, from ground floor level, in an efficient and timely manner.

Overview

By conducting a HESLO (helicopter external sling load operation) to move plant & equipment onto the roof, we saved our customer valuable time and money. During this exercise, we lifted 617 items of plant and equipment – onto the roof of one of the UK’s largest logistics buildings – all in under 6 hours.

Split into two phases and 128 separate lifts, the team worked diligently to the very tight schedule, which was met with ease. Radius’s role was to ensure the lifting of the plant under slung by helicopter, was carried out safely and on time with the maximum of care and minimum of disruption.
