Celebrating Construction Innovation at TechFest Awards 2024
Radius Group, in partnership with Skyline Cockpit, is delighted to announce our recognition at the prestigious Construction News TechFest Awards 2024. Shortlisted for the Best Use of Technology: Health, Safety & Wellbeing Award, our innovative work earned a Highly Commended accolade from the judges. This recognition underscores our dedication to transforming health, safety, and wellbeing in the construction industry through technological innovation.
The nomination highlights our ground-breaking innovation, the Skyline Cockpit – a ground control system for operating tower cranes. This revolutionary system redefines crane operation by enabling operators to control cranes remotely from a ground based cockpit, designed to be conveniently installed in a container or site office. By relocating tower crane control to ground level, this innovation goes beyond improving physical health and safety – it promotes inclusion, reduces, operator isolation, and fosters a safer, more connected working environment for the operator.
For the past 18 months, Radius Group has partnered with Skyline Cockpit to bring this transformative technology to the UK and Europe. This partnership highlights our commitment to enhancing safety and wellbeing on construction sites while driving efficiency and precision in operations.
The judges praised our efforts, stating:

Although we didn’t take home the win, this recognition reinforces our commitment to improving health, safety, and wellbeing across the construction sector.
