Proud to be Shortlisted in TWO Categories
Radius Group has been shortlisted in two categories at the prestigious Construction News Specialists Awards 2026:
- Training Excellence
- Equipment Specialist of the Year
The double shortlist recognises Radius Group’s continued leadership across specialist construction operations – from world-class engineered lifting solutions to raising standards in emergency response preparedness across high-risk construction environments.
The Training Excellence shortlist recognises the development of EIERRC (Enhanced Industry Emergency Response, Rescue & Command) – Radius Group’s advanced emergency response and rescue programme developed specifically for the realities of live construction sites.
Developed in partnership with specialist emergency response experts The Soteria Group and Intervention Rescue, EIERRC was created to address a critical gap within the industry: the ability to respond effectively during the first few minutes following a serious incident.
Rather than delivering generic compliance-led training, EIERRC combines trauma response, rescue capability and incident leadership into one integrated programme. Built around realistic, scenario-based exercises and genuine construction risks, it is focused on preparedness – building the confidence, coordination and capability required to respond effectively when every minute matters. The programme reflects Radius Group’s ongoing investment in helping raise standards in emergency preparedness across construction.
The second shortlist, Equipment Specialist of the Year, recognises Radius Group’s delivery of a specialist Helicopter External Sling Load Operation (HESLO) at Broadgate Tower in Central London.
Working alongside BAM UK & Ireland and helicopter partners, Radius engineered and delivered a complex lifting solution to install 15 Mitsubishi Electric air source heat pump units onto a 34-storey rooftop plant room above Liverpool Street Station. When conventional lifting methods became unworkable due to severe site constraints, Radius developed an alternative helicopter lifting strategy — safely completing the installation in just 27 minutes and 12 seconds.
”To be shortlisted in two categories at the Construction News Specialists Awards is a massive achievement for everyone involved.
Both shortlists reflect where Radius Group is heading as a business - continuing to invest in specialist capability, taking on complex challenges, and pushing ourselves to do things differently and better.
Whether that’s delivering helicopter lifting operations in some of the most constrained environments in the UK or developing advanced emergency response and rescue capability alongside specialist partners, both recognitions reflect the expertise, planning and preparedness behind the work our teams deliver every day.
