Radius Group Enhances Local Emergency Services Training
In a recent collaboration that underscores our commitment to community safety, Radius Group, provided vital support to the Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue Service by hosting a specialised emergency training session at our facility.
The event, held this week in our yard, featured the use of a tower crane, which was instrumental in simulating rescue operations from tall structures. This unique training opportunity allowed local firefighters to use their skills in a high-altitude rescue scenario. The session was also attended by Intervention Rescue, providing additional support and learning.
“It was a privilege to support our local heroes in their training efforts,” said Rachael Swanston, Marketing Manager at Radius Group. “Providing our facilities and equipment plays a crucial role in boosting the readiness of our emergency services, which is vital for the safety of our community.”
The training involved a realistic scenario in which a crane operator needed to be rescued from the cabin at the top of a 30m mast. The session, which was attended by Chief Fire Officer of Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue Service Nikki Watson, was highly praised for its realism and effectiveness.
Nikki Watson, Chief Fire Officer at Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Though Northamptonshire does not have many high rise buildings, our firefighters need to be trained and ready to respond to rescuing people from heights of any kind.”
