ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL INTERNATIONAL TOWER CRANES CONFERENCE FOR RADIUS GROUP
Radius Group was represented at the International Tower Crane Conference 2023 by Teddy Holt (Operations Director), Tony Thacker (Tower Cranes Sales), Kelsey Lythgoe (Tower Cranes Sales & Business Development), and Rachael Swanston (Sales & Marketing Associate). They attended the two-day conference dedicated solely to tower cranes and were fortunate to hear insights on new trends, development, innovation and technology.
On Day 1 KHL Group organised a guided tour of the world-famous Gaudi designed cathedral, Sagrada Familia. If you have visited this stunning building, you may have seen the four Potain tower cranes being used to work on the site; MD 175B – MD 238 – MD 125B and the MD 560 B. The MD 560 B is referred to as the ‘Mother of All Cranes’ because it feeds work to the other cranes. Radius is proud to be partnered with Potain (Manitowoc Group) a Global manufacturer, boasting a fleet of cranes known for lifting power, reliability, and innovative designs. The cranes are being used to speed up the construction process, with a completion date targeted for 2026.
Day 2 consisted of a full-day Conference, with several key players in the tower crane industry sharing their vision and insight; topics ranged from sustainability, new technology, the Spanish tower crane market, safety, productivity, and the future of construction challenges. There was also a panel discussion focused on self-erecting cranes and their place in the market. A formal networking drinks gathering rounded off the day.
Our team managed to spend time with many influential people, existing contacts, new faces, and friends within the industry. It was great to catch up with Nagham Al Zahlawi, Head of Strategy at NFT Group (the leading tower crane supplier in the industry), who Radius is partnered with.
