Delivering Unrivalled Onsite Emergency Rescue Training to our Clients

We are proud to be working in partnership with Intervention Rescue to deliver the best and most advanced tall structure rescue course on the market.

Over the past 2 years we have worked closely with Intervention Rescue Managing Director, Nick Croudace, who serves as a firefighter with over 20 years’ experience and has in-depth knowledge and cross industry sector capability in height safety, technical access and rescue & evacuation.

Radius are committed to creating safe working environments and are continually improving our Company’s performance regarding SHEQC. The service we offer in collaboration with Intervention Rescue is truly unique and we are proud to provide this as a ‘bolt-on’ service, regularly hosting training courses on and off site.

Full & multi day training sessions are offered, ranging from simple training scenarios, lowering stranded people to safely; to ‘Tower Crane Tall Structure Rescue Operator’ sessions, which entails on-site training to enable rescue team operators to execute an effective rescue plan and safely recover the casualty to safety. This complies with requirements of Construction Plant-hire Association (CPA) technical note TIN013 ‘Rescue of Personnel From Height on Tower Cranes’. You can also book in for a Tower Crane Jib Access and Rescue Day as well as specific sessions for managers and planners.

Nick told us “Radius Group shares our unwavering commitment to a detailed approach to safety and our dedication to raising professional standards in the construction sector. We couldn’t be happier with our ongoing collaborative partnership as we continue to deliver unrivalled onsite emergency response capabilities to our clients.

In 2021, Teddy Holt (Operations Director at Radius Group) and I, both served on the CPA project group, responsible for producing the CPA best practice guidance document ‘Emergency Action Planning & Rescue From Height on Tower Cranes – TCIG 2101’. Our shared commitment to safety and excellence in the industry over the last 2 years has resulted in a strong partnership, allowing us to consistently provide excellent emergency response services to our clients.

This collaboration ensures that we provide clients with a complete approach to safety and emergency response, meeting the highest standards and requirements set by industry regulations. Our commitment to excellence and the safety of our clients remains steadfast as we continue to work together to elevate professional standards in the industry.”

Tower crane rescue training is an essential part of the Radius Group SHEQC ethos and it is of paramount importance that our crew know what to do in the event of an operator becoming injured or ill at height. Rescue plans are measures put in place to recover someone who is stranded at height or following a fall from height/injured/ill and can’t make their way safely to ground.

Our staff are fully trained so that in the event of a rescue they know what they need to do and how to use their equipment. Having a working tower crane on site at Radius HQ ensures continual learning, for our in-house crews.  Our premises can also be used for external training for you and your team.

Being able to offer essential ‘Rescue from Height’ training sessions has proved to be an invaluable service. We have received extremely positive feedback from our clients – to include John Perkins, L&Q, Winvic, SDC, Wates, BAM UK & Ireland, Berkeley Group & ISG – who have said that in addition to being an essential part of the working partnership they have with Radius, that it was educational and also enjoyable for the teams who undertook the training.
